We believe physical death separates the soul from the body. A saved Church-Age believer who dies is absent from the body and present with the Lord.
The soul of an unsaved person descends consciously into Hell, where he remains in torment awaiting final judgment. After the Great White Throne Judgment, the lost are cast into the Lake of Fire, which is the second death and their final eternal punishment.
