We believe that when the Lord Jesus Christ declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30), the atoning sacrifice and payment for sin were completed at Calvary.
Nothing performed by a sinner afterward can supplement, repeat, or complete Christ’s finished work. Water baptism, church membership, sacraments, law-keeping, religious ritual, or human merit cannot add to His atonement.
We also believe His burial and bodily resurrection remain essential historical facts of the Gospel as defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. The finished atonement at Calvary and the completed Gospel events of His death, burial, and resurrection must be distinguished without being separated.
